The Ultimate Adventure Course comes with an Adventure Guide (Workbook and Academic Guide), 9 audio CDs or 8 cassettes, and a comprehensive CD-ROM in the version for French, German, and Spanish. The student works in the Workbook, doing all the activity lessons sequentially, while following along with the audio CDs. The CDs have native speakers from different geographical regions so the students are able to hear different pitches and tones that they would hear in real world settings.
The CD-ROM is designed to supplement the course, and features a series of adventure scenarios in which the user is allowed to choose their own adventure story. Students take the role of the main character, La Mosca and travel to different countries, finding themselves in different places, such as restaurants, airports, and hotels; this gives students the opportunity to hear the language being spoken in different situations and settings.
