Gulf Arabic: The Dialects of Riyadh and Eastern Saudi Arabia
Habaka J. Feghali
The Arabic dialects described in this book are spoken in Riyadh and in some parts of Eastern Saudi Arabia, the Al-Hasa region, Qatif, Hufuf, and Safwa. The book begins with a brief grammar that outlines the dialectical peculiarities of Riyadh and the Eastern Saudi dialects. The 45 reading selections, which are the heart of this study, are based on spontaneous and unrehearsed recordings made by native speakers of the Saudi dialects. A vocabulary is provided with each selection along with both grammatical and cultural notes, and an English translation of each selection is provided for the student who may be working without the aid of an instructor. A composite glossary of some 2,000 terms is provided at the end of the book. With audio recordings of the articles read by a native speaker. 2004, 700 pages, hardbound.

Spoken Sudanese Arabic: Grammar, Dialogues, and Glossary
Elizabeth M. Bergman
This is the first book-length treatment of Spoken Sudanese Arabic for English speakers since 1979. The book opens with a grammar sketch which describes sounds, wordbuilding, phrase and sentence structure, and discourse in Sudanese Arabic. The teaching dialogues are transcribed from authentic audio and video recordings made by first-language speakers of Sudanese Arabic. Each dialogue is followed by a glossary of words and phrases from the dialogue and by comprehensive notes that explain linguistic and cultural features. The focus of this work is listening comprehension and is designed for use by intermediate-level learners of Arabic who are familiar with Modern Standard Arabic and at least one other dialect of spoken Arabic. Learners at other levels as well as researchers with an interest in Arabic dialects will also find this work useful. With one 90 min. audio cassette recording of the articles read by a native speaker. 2002, 393 pages, hardbound.

Spoken Libyan Arabic
Eerik Dickinson

The two speakers in the dialouges are from Tripoli and from the countryside surroundind Benghazi. A special aspect of the thirty selections in the book is that they are the spontaneous speech of ordinary informants and that they have been edited only for the sake of length. The selections are transcribed into a modified version of the International Phonetic Alphabet. Selections are accompanied by a vocabulary and notes, and there is a global glossary at the end of the book. An English translation of each selection is also provided. The Little Prince in Arabic
Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
Note: these books are special orders, so they will take longer to ship than other products.
Equally loved by children and adults alike, The Little Prince is one of the most translated books on the planet - which is fortunate, as we are able to offer here editions in many languages for your (or your child's) enjoyment! With wonderful and whimsical illustrations by the author, this delightful tale straddles a world between adulthood and childhood, philosophy and fantasy, satire and fable, and reminds one not of great children's authors of the past, but of more unclassifiable writers like Carroll, Milne, and Tolkien, who seem to be writing as much for older as younger readers, and whose writings can be enjoyed on many levels. Written in 1943 by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, who disappeared shortly after in WWII during a flying mission for the Allies in Northern Africa, it became an instant cult classic and has remained so ever since. Enjoy The Little Prince in the language of your choice, and check regularly, as we will be adding new versions as they become available.

The Da Vinci Code (in Arabic)
While in Paris on business, Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon receives an urgent late-night phone call: the elderly curator of the Louvre has been murdered inside the museum. Near the body, police have found a baffling cipher. While working to solve the enigmatic riddle, Langdon is stunned to discover it leads to a trail of clues hidden in the works of Da Vinci -- clues visible for all to see -- yet ingeniously disguised by the painter. Langdon joins forces with a gifted French cryptologist, Sophie Neveu, and learns the late curator was involved in the Priory of Sion -- an actual secret society whose members included Sir Isaac Newton, Botticelli, Victor Hugo, and Da Vinci, among others. In a breathless race through Paris, London, and beyond, Langdon and Neveu match wits with a faceless powerbroker who seems to anticipate their every move. Unless Langdon and Neveu can decipher the labyrinthine puzzle in time, the Priory's ancient secret -- and an explosive historical truth -- will be lost forever.
